The globally adored fashion house will today (Thursday August 2) open the doors to a mammoth two-level store that is brimming with fresh threads for men, women, kids and bubs alongside the much loved home collection. Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) was founded in Sweden in 1947 to offer fashion and quality in a sustainable way without breaking the bank, so it’s little wonder why it’s become a favourite for fashionistas the world over. As if that’s not reason enough to love H&M, the brand has rolled out The Garment Collection program, which is a global initiative that invites customers to drop off unwanted clothing (any brand, any condition) to their nearest H&M store to be sorted by hand. Garments that can be worn again is marketed worldwide as second-hand goods, textiles that are no longer suitable to wear are converted into other products such as cleaning cloths and clothing that cannot be reused will get a new chance as textile fibres. The best part? In addition to feeling good about minimising your footprint, for every bag of textiles you drop off, you’ll receive a voucher towards your next exciting purchase.
