Gather

Gather is one of those places that is nigh impossible to describe. Situated next door to Dust Temple in Currumbin, it’s technically a homewares store but the reality is that it’s so much more than that. It’s essentially a living gallery that changes daily, a micro-nursery that specialises in rare and hard-to-find varietals of botanicals and an incubator for amazingly talented local makers, artists and designers. The dreamy space is the collective brainchild of New Zealand natives and now Gold Coast locals and sisters-in-law Jan and Sandy Hogg, who have combined their passions to create something truly unique. A wall of exquisitely coloured blooms provides a stunning entry and once inside, you’re greeted with a superbly curated collection of wares including cushions from Better World Arts, which are designed by indigenous artists in small communities in Australia and handmade in small communities in India, sustainable and eco-friendly threads from Oakie The Label, Mexican floor coverings from Milk & Moss as well as a stack of handmade vessels and votives from ceramicists including Terese Walker, Harvest Clay, Wildwood ceramics and Hunchmark, to name a few. If you love all things design, do yourself a favour and check out Gather, just be prepared to want one of everything.
