Cassie Potts, the brains behind Brisbane’s popular Fitz + Potts bar in Nundah, is spreading the goodness south of the border with a second venue in Murwillumbah, called Fitz + Potts at M-Arts. The eclectic two-level space forms part of the new M-Arts precinct in the town’s CBD, which is currently home to a number of art and creative studios. The downstairs level will feature a relaxed beer hall-type setting, which we’re told will be like a contemporary version of a traditional Belgian beer hall. The food is set to be modern market-style and 100 per cent vegan, with all produce (including the beer) sourced from between Byron Bay and the Gold Coast. We can expect the aesthetics to be similar to its Nundah venue – there will be plenty of colour, whilst retaining the rustic elements and appealing decay of the warehouse. Upstairs will feature an elegant wine and cocktail bar – it’ll be opulent, but fun, and will reflect a similar offering to Nundah, with plenty of organic drinkables. The new Fitz + Potts at M-Arts is due to open in early 2019.
