Eddie’s Grub House


Paying homage to blues, burgers and booze, Eddie’s Grub House has opened in Coolangatta transforming an old Indian restaurant into a dive bar for renegades and heart breakers. The American-style venue offers a simple menu with just four burgers, devilishly crispy southern-style fried chicken and a couple of classic sides including poutine and jalapeño-infused hushpuppies, which are basically cornbread batter balls dunked into the fryer and drizzled with chipotle mayo. There is no unnecessary pomp here, just authentic southern-style comfort food that will take you to a happy place and a bar stocked to the brim with whisky and other such niceties. If you fancy the odd cocktail or two, treat yo’ self to one of Eddie’s signature bacon and maple Manhattans that is topped with an actual streak of crispy bacon, because everything is better with bacon.
