Dust Temple
Most venues fall neatly into a category, whether it’s cafe, art gallery, event space or community hub – Dust Temple is not one of those places. Tucked away in the industrial corridor in Currumbin, Dust Temple is all of those things but so so much more. The multi-layered locale is essentially a blank canvas that can be interpreted any way you choose. Catch up for a morning meeting over a Fonzie Abbott coffee and a pastry, cast your eye over the current exhibition from a local or international artist or have a browse at one of Dust’s individual operators including Ruby + Prankstar, Marloe Morgan Ceramics and Gather. By night, Dust Temple transforms into a moody space for theatre, live music, performance, social gatherings, meet-the-artist events, live-drawing classes, poetry and even wax lyrical comps. However you choose to use the space, it’s impossible not to be inspired. There’s a sense of excitement built into the old tin-shed walls, like here, great things are possible. There are plans to establish a commercial kitchen, which will open the gates for a plethora of new and exciting events but for now, Dust Temple has more than enough happening to keep you coming back. Check out Dust Temple’s Facebook for all upcoming events.
