Dragon Cove

Overlooking the spectacular Sanctuary Cove marina, it’s fair to say Dragon Cove is not your run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant. The venue specialises in top notch Chinese nosh, think crispy skinned Peking duck that is seasoned and roasted to perfection and carved at the table, freshly made dumplings bursting with flavour and the freshest seafood imaginable. The menu offers an authentic taste of the orient with flavour combinations that have been tantalising tastebuds for centuries and meanders from classics you know and love including steamed fish fillet with ginger and shallot and black pepper eye fillet through to some more unexpected dishes such as lychee duck. If you simply can’t decide, opt for the banquet menu, which offers a little taste of everything over several courses so you can sit back, relax and be mesmerised by the boats gently swaying back and forth in the marina. A world removed from the stodgy Chinese you used to get from the local takeaway joint, Dragon Cove is raising the culinary bar for Chinese cuisine on the coast. It also happens to be BYO wine, so that’s always a bonus.

Every year, Dragon Cove celebrates Chinese New Year with a sumptuous eight-course banquet held from Friday February 16 to Sunday February 18. The banquet is just $78 per person and is definitely a true gastronomic experience.
