Occupying the space left by Outback Jacks in Southport, De Vito Waterfront is the latest offering from the Gold Coast’s own singing chef, David De Vito and his partner Tarscha. Combining his two great passions – singing and cooking – the new venue offers a Mediterranean dining experience that feels perfectly at home on the Gold Coast. If the sun is shining, grab a spot on the deck and munch on a selection of tapas such as Mama’s Meatballs that are made from David’s grandmother’s recipe, fresh South Australian black mussels that are steamed in white wine, Napoli and chilli or share a chilled seafood platter that is loaded with fresh king prawns, oysters, seared sushi grade tuna, char-grilled baby octopus, smoked salmon and oyster shooters. Every hour (or when orders permit), David will take a break from his pasta station to treat diners to a song or two.
