Bottega Chevron Village

Bottega is the latest venture from chef and owner Enzo Loterzo, who is also behind Chevron Island’s popular The LeanChef Kitchn (so lean it dropped the ‘e’), which has won over the local populace with its wholesome daytime bites. This time, Enzo has dug deep into his 30-plus year career to deliver a kind of casual fine dining concept that raises the bar a notch (or ten) from the norm. Diners will be enticed with an extensive menu of Italian bites ranging from freshly shucked oysters, crisp arancini, and burrata with chargrilled sourdough. Primi Piatti, or first dishes, include Vitello Tonnato (fine slices of poached veal with tuna mayonnaise and fried capers) and Gnocchi Latino (house-made gnocchi with slow-cooked veal and pork ragu) alongside a dedicated section for risotto, which, in years past has earned a rave review from Matt Preston. Of course, no Italian restaurant would be complete without a selection of pizza and Bottega’s are hand-rolled, stretched, topped, and placed into the smoldering-hot wood-fired oven, which takes pride of place at the entrance. Bottega offers a selection of wine from Australia and Italy as well as a succinct selection of cocktails and Italian brews including Peroni and Birra Baladin.
