Barefoot Currumbin
Barefoot Currumbin is cafe number four for owners Dean and Liz who opened their first cafe in Palm Beach in 2009 before establishing a thriving nook in Burleigh Heads (2011), Mermaid Beach (2017), and now, Pacific Parade in Currumbin. If you’re a regular at Barefoot’s other venues, the menu will look fairly familiar with all of your morning faves present and accounted for including the ever-popular crispy potato hash. The bowls will get your day off to an excellent start with the zucchini-and-halloumi fritters emerging as a crowd-favourite but come midday, the menu flips to offer a selection of three burgers (cajun fish, cheese or buttermilk-fried chicken), fish and chips and a delightfully fresh salmon bowl. Thirsty? There’s a selection of cold-pressed juices, protein smoothies and kombucha to sip pre-10:00 am. Afterwards, Barefoot Currumbin is licensed so you can blow the froth off a brew from Black Hops, Balter or Stone & Wood. There’s also a succinct selection of sparkling, rosé, white and red wine as well as a handful of cocktails. If you are feeling a little fragile from the night before, the bloody Mary will help make you human again and if you’re really eager, there’s a margarita and a spiked espresso (otherwise known as an espresso martini) will bring you back from the brink.
