By definition, balter means ‘to dance artlessly without particular skill or grace, but usually with enjoyment’, which is quite fitting since that’s exactly what you’ll be doing when you get a glimpse of Balter HQ. The gigantic 750-sqm industrial warehouse is a beer drinkers happy place and is equipped with a 35 hectolitre brewhouse, tasting room and plenty of places to park your keister to enjoy a beverage or two. The venture is the work of mates Mick Fanning, Joel Parkinson, Stirling Howland, Sean Ronan, Josh Kerr, Bede Durbidge and Ant MacDonald and is dedicated to creating really great beer that transforms your worldview. Balter HQ is open to the public Wednesday through to Sunday and there will be food trucks on hand so swing by for a bite, a beer and maybe a little balter.
