Aurelia Restaurant and Bar

By day, Aurelia Restaurant and Bar dishes up modern Australian nosh and Dimattina coffee but as the sun sets, the venue transforms into a trendy Italian-style tapas bar. Named after the moon jellyfish (the non-dangerous kind), the establishment offers a mouth-watering selection of plates including pan-seared scallops perched atop a bed of minted pea puree sprinkled with smoky bacon dust and slow roasted pork belly with housemade smoked apple sauce and refreshing cucumber salad. If you simply can’t decide, opt for the eight-course set menu or if your hunger doesn’t quite stretch that far, there’s a six-course banquet for $50 per person. If you could be persuaded to indulge in a cocktail or two, Aurelia boasts an enticing selection of cocktails but it’s their take on the espresso martini that has people coming back for more. Aurelia’s version contains a dash of Spanish vanilla liqueur, which adds a delightful sweetness to the swill.
