Arakawa Restaurant

Dishing up dinner with a side of sensational showmanship, Arakawa offers a little taste of Japan with skilfully hand-crafted sushi, traditional a la carte dishes and thrilling teppanyaki complete with fire and plenty of knife wielding. The restaurant is headed by Chef Yoshi, who hails from the small snowy town of Saroma Hikkaido and boasts a lifetime of experience working in various kitchens around Japan as well as Donto Sapporo in Broadbeach. The true heart and soul of Arakawa, you’ll find Yoshi entertaining diners at the sushi counter with tales of his favourite ingredients as well as sushi and sashimi recipes. Start with a plate of the venue’s specialty (and Chef Yoshi’s favourite) Humpty Doo barramundi sashimi sourced from the majestic Adelaide River (halfway between Darwin and Kakadu National Park) and a sip of Junmai daigin Jyo sake as you peruse the rest of the extensive menu. The bento boxes are a popular choice as they offer a little taste of everything including sashimi, tempura, protein, rice and miso soup or if it’s all a bit too much choice, the set menus represent incredible value. Arakawa Restaurant is located on Level 2 at RACV Royal Pines Resort and is open Wednesday through to Sunday from 6:00 pm to late. Got a special occasion coming up? Reserve one of the intimate tatami tables.
