The Vans X Van Gogh collection brings iconic masterpieces off the wall
Sneaker heads, art connoisseurs and appreciators of damn-cool collaborations, this is for you. Footwear giant Vans has partnered with the Van Gogh Museum to release an artful collection that showcases the most iconic masterpieces of famous Dutch post-impressionist artist, Vincent Van Gogh.
The Vans X Van Gogh series will see the masterpieces recreated across the Vans Classics and various apparel pieces, which will be available worldwide from Friday August 3. As part of the collaboration, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam will dedicate a portion of its profits to the preservation of Vincent Van Gogh’s legacy, ensuring the invaluable collections remain accessible to generations to come.
Despite having his signature on more than 2000 pieces of work, just four of Van Gogh’s most iconic pieces were selected to feature in the Vans collection – Skull, Almond Blossom, Sunflowers and Van Gogh’s self portrait. This is probably (definitely) as close as you’ll ever come to actually owning a real Van Gogh masterpiece. Keep your eye on the Vans website when this iconic new collection drops to scope out your local stockists.
