The Social Outfit’s captivating new collection champions sustainability and ethics

Ethical clothing label The Social Outfit has launched a bold new collection that is sure to capture hearts and eyes across the country. The sustainable brand has collaborated with a series of inspirational community-driven artists to release its spring/summer drop named King Botanic.

The Social Outfit, founded in Sydney’s Newtown, operates as a social enterprise, providing employment and training in the fashion industry (in areas like clothing production, retail, design and marketing) to people from refugee and new-migrant communities. Its King Botanic collection features three exclusive prints – the ‘Topographic Bloom’ by renowned artist Kate Banazi, and ‘Lioness’, by Annette Galstaun of Studio A, an enterprise that assists artists living with intellectual disabilities. The third print ‘Liverpool’ features a collage of ten different illustrations from young women from the new-migrant and refugee community in Liverpool.

The label’s pieces are made on site at its King Street (Sydney) store by a small group of artisans, utilising dead-stock materials from the Australian fashion community. Major fashion icons Carla Zampatti, Alice McCall, Seafolly, Good Day Girl and Romance Was Born have provided quality excess fabrics and cut-offs for the new King Botanic collectio, which features a series of garments and accessories in the three bright and captivating prints.

King Botanic by The Social Outfit officially launches online and in store on September 13.
