Wear threads that make a difference from Society&Co
It’s not every day you pull on a t-shirt that you can genuinely say has made a difference to the social and environmental fabric of the community. Forward-thinking fashion label Society&Co is leaving a huge footprint on the apparel industry by investing 100% of its profits to finance four key social pillars – education, social justice, health and the environment. Oh, and as for the clothing? It’s way cool.
Every purchase from Society&Co has a perpetual social impact. How? Well, the rad-looking Society&Co apparel is sold to us, the consumers, and from there 100% of the profits are used to grow what they call its ‘impact fund’, which is actually professionally managed by Australian Ethical Investments. Just like your bank account generates interest, the fund generates income to finance Society&Co’s ‘impacts’ which fall under the four pillars of education, social justice, health and the environment. So, when you buy from Society&Co, you can choose your supported ‘impact’ (one of the four pillars) based on the cause that means most to you – that might be education, which means that your purchase can help provide 20 days of an education scholarship to an at-risk Australian child. Or, if you choose to support the health pillar, your purchase would enable 15 children to attend a mental health awareness and education program.
Let’s not forget the real driving force behind this social model – the threads. The mens cotton t-shirts come in grey, white, navy and black – aka every guy’s wardrobe staple. You’ll also find a unisex striped tank, long-sleeve shirts, crew and raglan tees plus cool tote bags and trucker hats. The apparel is ethically manufactured by accredited facilities from quality materials to give you great-fitting basics for everyday wear – and boy will it feel good to wear this gear knowing that it has made such an impact. Society&Co is all about creating social and environmental change through fashion apparel – and we reckon it’s pretty damn cool. Learn more about Society&Co online and join the movement on Instagram. Keep your eyes peeled in early 2017 for exciting new additions to the apparel collection. Get on this!
