Embrace your natural beauty in sophisticated neoprene surfwear by Skin + Bone
Whether you’re out in the line-up at Burleigh Point waiting for the perfect set or just relaxing on the beach, you want to feel comfortable in what you’re wearing (or lack thereof). Women’s surf and swimwear label Skin + Bone is drawing a line in the sand with its collection of neoprene pieces that are simple, classic and will have you walking out of the surf looking like a total badass Bond girl.
Owner and designer Jade Ashcroft created Skin + Bone after noticing an acute lack of variety when it came to fashion, fit and comfort for ladies who surf. Her aim was to elevate women’s swim and surfwear with understated, sexy and sophisticated designs. The clean lines and inconspicuous branding is a refined and totally refreshing shift away from the brightly coloured, logo-heavy steamers and springsuits from major brands in the market. Inspired by the human form and the unpredictability of the ocean, the Skin + Bone pieces are designed to be sleek and minimal, ensuring a flattering fit, which, let’s be honest, can be pretty darn hard to find!
The pieces showcase the different textures of the neoprene though panelling designs and dark tones, creating a simplistic collection for the everyday surf girl. There’s high-waisted and hipster bikini bottoms which can be paired with the off-the-shoulder top or the ‘essential’ bikini top, which are designed to be worn comfortably under your wetsuit or simply on the sand. The neoprene sleeveless one-piece is the ultimate surf garment, and when things cool down a little, the long-sleeve one-piece is all you’ll need – both are crafted with 2mm-thick cosy neoprene and feature a cheeky bum-cut.
