If you have an inherent appreciation for fine fabrics, listen up because local label Silk Laundry has unveiled its brand spanking new winter collection that will have you praying for crisp mornings so you can shimmy into a slip dress, throw on a chunky knit and some white sneakers. Winter wardrobe, sorted!

Known for its amazing quality (and just quietly, pretty amazing) silk basics, Silk Laundry’s new Winter 2018 collection definitely does not disappoint. The brand’s signature 90s slip dress, which has become a wardrobe staple, has been reimagined in a range of lust-worthy new colourways including vibrant red, deep purple and our personal favourite, khaki, with some additional variations here and there including tie shoulders and a plunging back. The range, which is expected to drop on May 15, also offers silk shirts and camisoles, sleepwear and the ultimate 90s accessory, the scrunchie.

Whilst slinky dresses probably aren’t the first thing that comes to mind when contemplating winter dressing, silk (unlike its synthetic satin sister) actually regulates body temperature and preserves your body heat in the cold making it the perfect choice for the impending Gold Coast winter (which we all know isn’t real winter). Silk Laundry was created in 2014 by Katie Rackley to meet the demands of her own wardrobe and to deliver an ethos of quality over quantity. As a result, Silk Laundry features limited production runs of styles resulting in a unique collection of essentials that should really be viewed as investment pieces rather than one-hit wonders. Keep an eye out for the new range online or check it out in person at Sean Scott and The Freedom State in Burleigh Heads.
