Birdwell Beach Britches’ boardies are to the subculture of surfing as the Levis 501’s are to American culture – timeless. In fact, the Southern Californian surf brand has been churning the exact same style of two-ply nylon shorts since Carrie Birdwell began hand-stitching trunks in the front room of her home in 1961, which is pretty rare in today’s transient world. It’s this timeless quality that makes the RVCA x Birdwell collection so sweet.
A time capsule back to the days when the boards were long and the shorts rode high above the knee, the collaboration offers more than a hint of nostalgia.
