YASSS HUNTY! RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race is dropping on Stan this weekend
In case you’ve been living under a particularly joyless rock, you have probably already encountered the wonderful world of RuPaul’s Drag Race. The exceptionally binge-worthy franchise has become a legit pop-culture phenomenon, spawning a worldwide fascination with the art of drag. You’d think the winning combo of jaw-dropping transformations, gag-worthy performances and spicy arguments couldn’t be improved upon, but things are about to get a shake-up. We’re about to be blessed with a spin-off that will see mystery celebrity guests getting dragged up by some of the most beloved former contestants from the show – proving that we’re all born naked and the rest is drag.
Since audiences were first teased with the concept of RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race, the franchise’s dedicated fans have been speculating about whether it would actually happen. Well, the drag gods have kindly bestowed a precious gift upon us in these trying times, as it has been revealed that the four-episode miniseries will air on Stan from Saturday April 25. We’ll even be copping it on the same day as the US, so potential spoilers will be much easier to avoid. Halleloo!
So, let’s spill the tea on just who will be appearing on the show. While Mama Ru is keeping a lid on the celebrities who are set to undergo a Drag Race transformation (praying for Harry Styles tbh), she has confirmed the supreme queens who will be making them over. You can expect to see Alyssa Edwards, Asia O’Hara, Bob the Drag Queen, Kim Chi, Monét X Change, Monique Heart, Nina West, Trinity the Tuck, Trixie Mattel and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo taking on coaching duties, with one celeb winner crowned per episode. The cash tips that usually go to the winning queen will be donated to the celebrity victor’s charity of choice, making this special-edition season even more wholesome.
