Rhythm marching to its own beat

Rhythm surf brand was born in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast in 2002 and has grown to be one of our greatest local success stories with its range of wares now found in hundreds of stores around Australia, Europe, USA and Canada.

Arriving on the local surf scene in an explosion of colour, bold geometric designs and an unlikely meld of influences from the worlds of art, music, and lifestyle, Rhythm was the realisation of a vision for surfing creatives Jamahl Grey and Neal Purchae Jnr. This wild unleashing of creative energies struck a chord with a new generation of fashion-forward surfers looking for an authentic alternative to mainstream surf wear blandness and now has three head offices around the world in Burleigh Heads, Irvine California and Munich Germany.

The brand’s ethos ‘the sound of change’ is abundantly apparent as you wander through Rhythm’s flagship retail store in James Street Burleigh Heads. Contrary to mainstream surf stores that are jammed wall to wall with merchandise, Rhythm offers a clean aesthetic that allows you to appreciate each item for what it is, a manifestation of the brand’s commitment to authenticity, quality and creativity. Every piece is as unique as the people who will wear it.
