When it comes to creating something that will stand the test of time, there are a few key factors to consider. Is it made with care? Does it have its own unique style? Will you love it forever as trends come and go? One brand that ticks all of these boxes is Raela, an Australian accessories label crafting brilliant bags that turn heads and change lives.

Raela is the brainchild of Sydney-based creatives Rae Pooley and Nataschia Holland, two ladies who were initially brought together as co-workers in the fashion industry. The pair developed a deeper connection through two main channels – a shared love and respect for carefully crafted wares, as well as a mutual connection to their homeland of South Africa. Their respective industry experience combined with their genuine passion to create timeless treasures was a match made in heaven, with Raela launching in early 2019 to fast acclaim.

Raela’s distinct designs perfectly toe the line between daring and timeless. Destined to become new classics, each collection is based upon traditional crafts that are reflected in their aesthetics – think embroidery, handbeading, crocheting and metalsmithing. The bespoke nature of production ensures each collection is truly unique and limited in numbers – so you can confidently tote your bag without fear of seeing duplicates everywhere. Every piece is ethically handmade in Northern India under safe and fair conditions, but this isn’t the only feel-good aspect of the brand – Raela donates $5 to each of its two charity partners (Thandi House and Kasturi & Mehfuza Charitable Trust) for every bag sold.

Want to pick up your own future heirloom? You can shop the full range of Raela bags through the brand’s website.
