Honest luxury – Public Figure pioneers Australia’s first sustainable shopping platform

If you are one of the many Australians who have pledged to be a little more conscious when it comes to the labels you support but don’t necessarily have the time for endless scrolling and researching, we have some good, nay, great news! Public Figure is an online shopping destination for sustainable luxury and brings together some of the world’s best conscious labels, all in one place.

Public Figure is a new luxury fashion site that features apparel and accessories from consciously-made, values-driven labels from around Australia and abroad. The site was created by fashion industry professional Bella Zito as a sort of one-stop-shop for sustainable luxury. The goal, she says, is to transform the understanding of what ‘honest’ luxury looks and feels like with each label hand-picked based on its transparency in processes, style and quality.

To celebrate its launch, Public Figure has partnered with Melbourne label Van Der Kooij, which focusses on hyper-local, hand-made garments made from repurposed fabrics and is showcased alongside Adelaide’s Autark, which uses natural fibers and deadstock textiles to produce investment-worthy pieces of sculptural, minimal beauty, and sustainable swimwear from the Gold Coast’s own Peony. Included in the accessories offering is cult sunglasses label Velvet Canyon and LA-based Young Frankk, a jewellery studio creating contemporary pieces from recycled and locally-sourced materials. If you’re keen to shop sans guilt, take a peek at Public Figure here.
