Sustainable swimwear – Gold Coast label peony prepares to launch its first recycled range
As if any of us needed another reason to love local swimwear label peony but just in case you did, here’s a big one. The fashion-forward brand is making the bold move and shifting towards sustainability with its latest collection, Narrative.
If you’re an ocean-loving lady, we have some very good news (for you and the world’s waterways) peony’s Spring ’18 collection, will feature a range of sustainable and recycled fabrics that will make you feel beautiful on the outside and the inside. The luxe Italian fabrics were months in the making and actually created through the regeneration of discarded materials, like fishing nets recovered from the ocean, and lovingly brought to life in peony’s signature style. As if that wasn’t enough, the Gardenia and Petal fabrications feature a cotton blend, which has been manufactured to Oeko-Tex Standard 100 being free from harmful chemicals, ensuring it is better for the environment and the wearer – hurrah!
Beyond being downright dreamy, Narrative is a whimsical and nostalgic tale built upon a dark and moody colour palette with surprising pops of colour. The collection contains some of the brand’s signature styles alongside some exciting new shapes including high-rise bikini bottoms bandeau-style tops. If you’re keen to dive on in, pre-orders will be available from July. Take a peek at peony’s website or follow the brand’s lust-worthy Instagram for updates but be warned, it may or may not (read: it definitely will) make you want to book a European getaway, stat.
