Detailed, textured and wearable beyond the beach – swimwear label peony reveals its 2019 collection
Iconic swimwear label peony, born right here on the Gold Coast, is making a sophisticated splash with its first collection for 2019. Titled Sonnet, the beautiful series has been described by the brand’s founder Becky Morton as an elevated and more mature progression of peony’s signature laid-back style.
The 17-piece collection is inspired by the romanticism of meandering and secluded Australian coastlines in the summer. Showcasing one and two-piece creations detailed with in-house developed textures and prints, in tones like white, teal and cornflower blue, the collection is designed to be equally as wearable away from the water.
The newly released Sonnet pieces also highlight peony’s progressive stance on sustainability, which sees the company continually develop systems to become more closed-loop with its production processes. The brand’s sustainable Italian lycra utilises regenerative nylon fibres made from discarded ocean and industrial plastic waste, and it has also introduced sustainable lining on all of its garments.
