Be part of the solution with conscious threads from OhSevenDays
Second to oil, the clothing industry is the largest industry polluter in the world. Thankfully, the tide is turning on fast fashion as consumers demand more from the labels they choose to support giving way to more conscious, considered practices. One label that is pioneering a shift towards a more sustainable industry is Instanbul-based OhSevenDays.
Eldridge Cleaver once said, you’re either part of the solution or you’re part of the problem and for Megan Mummery, founder of OhSevenDays, the choice was clear. Rather than creating yet another fashion label, she wanted to do things differently and embarked on a fabric-finding mission that led her to a basement in a small district of Istanbul that was filled with mountains and mountains of unused and discarded textiles from a large womenswear factory that was otherwise destined for landfill. This discovery sparked an idea – to create a womenswear brand that uses fast fashion’s left overs to create sustainable regenerative fashion and just like that, OhSevenDays was born.
OhSevenDays is a mindfully made womenswear label that creates sustainable wardrobe staples from dead stock fabrics. The conscious label revolves around an understated yet charismatic aesthetic with each piece designed to be multi-functional and versatile within a capsule wardrobe so you can ultimately buy less and wear it more often. The latest collection can take you from work to weekend with buttery soft long-sleeve belted jumpsuits, oversized cotton shirts and a super versatile reversible wrap top. OhSevenDays is also partnering with TreeSisters‘ program Trees for Transactions and planting five trees for every order placed so that’s another reason to feel pretty damn good about your purchase.
