Gents, if you’re on the hunt for a new wetsuit this winter, then listen up – we want you to get acquainted with NCHE. Based in Sydney, the brand weaves minimalist style with function and form to create the ultimate collection of simplistic, lightweight wetsuits.

NCHE wetsuits, pronounced ‘niche’, is a collaboration between three surfers – Mic Eaton, Simon Barratt and Jared Howse. Taking a sophisticated step away from brand-heavy designs and questionable aesthetics in the wetsuit market, the NCHE suits are designed to strip all of the unnecessary elements away, before making them as flexible and durable as possible. The head of creative design for NCHE, Mic Eaton, who believes a wetsuit should compliment its environment, sticks to three principles when designing the suits – clean lines, large panels and minimal aesthetic.

The NCHE designs sees the elimination of functions that wetsuits don’t need – zips, super seams, welded external seams, and anything that could add weight or potentially fail. The result? A modern wetsuit with zipless entry, minimal stitching and minimal logos. The NCHE suits take form with limestone neoprene, which is sandwiched between a renewable plant-based internal lining composite, made from charcoal and bamboo. The suits are then finished with an ultra-soft external layer. The minimal panels, seams and stitching aids performance and function, and offer unrestricted stretch, whilst the watertight zipless entry and silicone seal make the NCHE range lighter and less bulky than zipped suits.
