Mr Simple X Victoria Bitter – a collaboration we can all get behind

Hovering high on the list of things we hold near and dear in this nation is beer — and our lucky country has plenty of home-grown drops to appreciate. While every individual has a favourite brew they are enamoured to, you can’t argue one of our most popular and iconic lagers is Victoria Bitter — and do we have some exciting news involving our brewing buddies south of the border to share with you.

In a collaboration that deserves appreciation, menswear label Mr Simple has teamed up Victoria Bitter for a special-edition clothing line dedicated to the iconic beer brand. The timeless VB logo has been reimagined into a glorious range of shirts, shorts, hats and socks, with eight pieces released – just in time for summer. Rifling through the archives for inspiration, the design team used vintage materials and enlisted the expertise of ARIA-nominated visual artist Lee McConnell to create the range.

Hailing from the small town of Forster, Lee has previously had his creative claws in work with Dune Rats, Jack River, Splendour In The Grass, Sydney City Limits and Big Pineapple. Putting his artistic talents to good use with Mr Simple, Lee’s latest beer-centric designs are a mix of new and old, paying homage to VB’s historical roots combined with some pop-art twists on VB’s iconic logo.  The campaign for the new range was shot at Mr Simple HQ, with the team converting their office space into a pop-art-inspired VB bar. The clothing line was officially released on November 14 and can be added to your wardrobe by visiting a store or shopping online. While we believe the whole range is worthy of recommendation, special mention goes to the VB BBQ Shirt and Resort Shorts, a formidable combo to rock at your local watering hole this summer.
