Any dude with a solid sense of style and a penchant for online shopping would be well aware of MR PORTER, the digital playground full of curated collections of the best designer brands on the planet. Well, this online style mecca wasn’t content with just providing gents worldwide easy access to the finest labels going – it wanted to create its very own. Fellas, it’s time to introduce yourselves to MR P.

When it comes to the debut MR P. collection, it is clear that the brand has followed in its founding website’s curatorial ethos – it’s all easy pieces, smart details and enduring style as far as the eye can see (or the mouse can scroll). A team of in-house designers from MR PORTER has created the range of future classics, drawing upon seven years worth of customer feedback and shopping patterns since the site’s launch in 2011. As well as this core Essentials collection that has just been released, MR P. will showcase five limited edition capsules every year – each trend-driven, seasonal and inspired by a style icon past or present.

The MR P. debut collection is made up of 53 ready-to-wear items in total, including 24 key styles available year-round and 29 seasonal styles within this first capsule. The first muse up on the block is 20th century British painter and portraitist Mr Lucian Freud The collection is as lush as it is varied – think 15-gauge cashmere knitwear, new-age Oxford shirts, Japanese selvedge denim and virgin wool overcoats for a start. The vast majority of the clothes are made in Italy, with certain items made in Portugal, and the denim in Japan. The second MR P. capsule is set to be released in February next year, followed by a third in April, with the brand’s AW18 drop introducing shoes and accessories into the mix.

If you’re keen to scope the next generation in men’s style, you can shop the MR P. debut collection through MR PORTER.
