Last-minute Mother’s Day gift ideas

Mothers are pretty great. Not only do they bring small humans into this world and teach said small humans valuable life skills, they provide advice (sometimes upon request) and offer the kind of wisdom only a mother seems to know. Say thanks to your mum, or a mum that you know, for all of the wonderful things she does this Mother’s Day. If by chance you wish to say it by way of a gift, we’ve round up a few last-minute gift ideas.

If your mum doesn’t mind the odd pot of tea, pop in to T2 at Robina Town Centre and pick up a pretty pot and cup set to make her morning ritual a little bit special. Or for a little twist, plant some mint, rose geranium, pineapple sage, and lavender in a wooden box and make her a tea garden so she can make her own tea. While flowers are lovely, another idea is to raid your local op-shop for pretty teacups/teapots/vessel of any kind and plant a little succulent. A tin can works a treat too. The great thing about succulents is that they are super easy to maintain and they happen to look pretty cute.

While a touch conventional, deliciously soft pyjamas always go down a treat. Instead of the usual (and expected) pyjama places, take a peek at Homebodii’s Pima Cotton Organic Essentials collection. If your mum appreciates a little pampering, give her the gift of complete and utter relaxation and book your mum (and yourself) in for the Marvellous Mum package at spaQ at QT Gold Coast.

If your mum is a homely kind of lady, you’re guaranteed to find something fabulous at Beautiful Spaces or pick up some beautiful handmade crockery from Marloe Morgan Ceramics. If money is tight, while you weren’t looking, Kmart and Target really stepped it up in the homewares department and have some cute (and inexpensive) things for her home such as this hammered metal bowl, this round mirror and these lovely porcelain plates. Make her house smell like a tropical island with a glamorous Cocolux candle housed in a solid copper holder, you may have left it a little late to order online but lucky for you Cocolux is stocked at Designer Forum at Robina Town Centre.

If your mum is the adventurous type, an experiential gift could be fun. A hot air balloon flight over the coast would create some memories that won’t be forgotten in a hurry or take the TreeTop Challenge on Tamborine Mountain.

While gifts are great, keep in mind that Mother’s Day isn’t about dropping bucket loads of cash. Sometimes, a little something from the heart can mean more than all of the flowers in the entire world. If you’re stuck for a few ideas, make this homemade pomegranate face scrub, pick up some girlie movies and spend some quality time together. Speaking of quality time, make some memories with your mum this Mother’s Day over fabulous food and maybe a cocktail or two. We’ve round-up a few restaurants and cafes to give you some ideas.
