Mobile Barber Shop Depot brings snips and sips to Bundall
Gold Coast barber Joey D’Adderio is renowned for his razor-sharp snips, eclectic style and insane ability to turn any drab-looking fella into a dapper gent. The owner of Luigi & Sons, one of the coast’s longest-running barbers, has this week unveiled his latest creation – an edgy new barber shop, bar and events space in a transformed warehouse in the heart of Bundall.
The doors to Mobile Barber Shop Depot have officially opened – and boy is it cool. The space is steeped in history, from the vintage one-of-a-kind barber chairs and the Remington typewriter, to the chesterfield lounges and reclaimed timber features. This is far from your usual barber shop – it’s the type of place you’d want to go to just to hang out … and you can.
Not only is Joey working his magic hands in front of the impressive oversized mirrors, the space also features an Airstream caravan that doubles as a bar – which means you’ll be able to sink into a couch and sip beer, wine and coffee (be patient – the liquor license is on its way). The team also has plans to host local food trucks for daily lunches, and will make the space available for event hire. If you’re a gent that needs to sharpen up, you want a cool place to hang or you’re on the hunt for a rad-looking event space, then head to Upton Street and check this out.
