Adorn your feet with crochet shoes from Luludu

Regular shoes will look rather ordinary once you catch a glimpse of Luludu’s range of ethically produced, handmade crocheted shoes. Luludu is the realisation of a dream for local lady Alana Deukett.

After fate brought Alana a pair of her Mum’s old crocheted shoes from the 80s, she knew she had to learn how to make them. And learn she did. After a year perfecting the design, Alana began selling her wares at various markets around the place. Alas, each pair took eight hours to make and she simply could not keep up with demand.

Fiercely opposed to slave labour, Alana’s quest eventually took her to Cambodia where she connected with Tonlé, a zero-waste fair fashion label in Phnom Penh. Together, Luludu and Tonlé are helping change the lives of women in and around Cambodia by providing safe, well-paid, honest work.

Luludu’s range of adult shoes, baby shoes, dreamcatchers and tote bags are not only people friendly, they are made using all vegan materials so they are animal friendly too.

Luludu is available online as well as Dear Gladys in Melbourne.
