Carving her own path through life, local lady Katie Beer spends her days handcrafting four-wheeled labours of love from her workshop in Mermaid Beach. Her boards, under the moniker Kippy Skateboards, have been the architects of summer adventures since 2011.

Representing a change of pace from her previous pastel-hued collection, the new release from Kippy Skateboards entitled Indian Summer offers elegantly intricate tribal prints, deliciously bright colour panels and retro tropical motifs on her signature 1960’s inspired decks. The new collection is inspired by aged colours, vast landscapes and hand-painted textiles from around the world.

Adventure comes pre-crafted into Kippy Skateboards as they offer a purposeful and beautifully worn look that is unique to each board. The decks are handmade to embrace imperfections and are specially crafted using sustainable Australian 12mm timber and eco-friendly techniques. You can request either a rounded square or a fish tail, depending on your preference. The decks are paired with three-inch trucks and 60mm wheels, perfect for long drawn out carves reminiscent of scenes from Youth Group’s Forever Young video clip.

Kippy Skateboards are all uniquely numbered so you can be sure your board is completely bespoke. Browse the full collection of Kippy Skateboards online.
