Immediately bonding over a shared love of art, design and awesome footwear, friends Prue Treweeke and Marre Muijs created ESSEN as an answer to their own personal struggle to find the perfect pair of shoes. Manufacturing processes that prioritise quality over quantity coupled with a design ethos aimed at classic styling was a winning formula, as the team quickly realised that they weren’t alone in their quest for comfort meeting aesthetics.
ESSEN couldn’t get further away from fast fashion if it tried – the brand is designed and developed in Melbourne, entirely handmade in Italy and Portugal and then accessible to anyone in the world with an internet connection.
