Candles and leather from Deckle and Hide

Anne is a fine artist with a background in architecture. Luke is a designer with a background in engineering. Deckle and Hide is their love child, born in the spring of 2012. Deckle and Hide produces a quality, handmade range that includes leather goods, botanical candles and fine art prints.

A peek at Deckle and Hide’s online store reveals a beautifully minimalist collection. Each piece, they say, is designed for one purpose based on the ease of use, durability and aesthetic appeal. Each product is handmade from carefully selected materials and ingredients, sourced from around the globe. Deckle and Hide’s products are free from unnecessary embellishments. The bi-fold wallet, for example, is designed to hold only the absolute monetary necessities to encourage users to liberate themselves from excess receipts, loyalty cards and the subsequent pocket bulge.

Deckle & Hide’s leather products use bovine hides in the purest form, not tampered with or re-fabricated. Every scratch or bite mark in the hide is the brand’s salute to the life of the animal. All of their leather products are designed to develop its own unique patina over time. Each scratch, each raindrop and even the individual oil content of our skin alters how each Deckle & Hide leather product looks over time.

The scented candle range uses 100% natural ingredients which eliminates the toxic black smoke that is produced when a candle is scented using synthetic fragrances. Deckle & Hide candles use 100% essential oils sourced from around the globe so not only do they smell gorgeous, they emit a vast array of health benefits as well. Each candle is hand-poured and made in small batches, to keep their ecological footprint to a minimum.

A new range of scents and leather products from Deckle & Hide is on the horizon so keep an eye out online as well as Small Stall in Palm Beach. There are also a couple of candles available at Good Day Coffee in Tugun.
