Converse unveils the Chuck Taylor All Star II

Almost a century after its initial release, the iconic Converse Chuck Taylor All Star has been given a facelift but before you freak out and start hyperventilating into a paper bag, the changes are predominantly internal.

You’d probably be hard-pressed to find a pair of kicks more iconic and ingrained in street culture than the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star but let’s be honest, who hasn’t secretly wished for a tiny bit more in the way of arch support after a long day on your feet? The shoe-makers have granted your wish and revealed the eagerly anticipated Chuck Taylor All Star II. Visually, the sneakers are almost identical to its popular predecessor however Converse has added an extra layer of comfort courtesy of a Nike Lunarlon Sockliner insole for added cushioning and arch support, a super soft micro-suede perforated lining for breathability, a padded non-slip tongue as well as a stitched-on logo, which has no effect on overall comfort but it does mean that it won’t peel off or fade after a few wears.

Available in high and low tops, the Chuck Taylor All Star II has been released in four classic colour-ways including black, red, blue and white. Take a peek at the new kicks online or keep an eye out for them to land in a store near you.
