At Zephyr, it’s very much all about the coffee. Owner and resident coffee guru Justin Diamandopoulos is the brains behind this rad little beachside hang, which roasts beans on site from a fancy state-of-the-art Chinook Piccolo air-flow roaster. Yep, this is as boutique as you can get. Two house blends have been created – one for black coffee (Jet Stream), one for white (Sirocco). Makes sense, right? So, the black is more palatable with a smooth, light taste, whilst the white holds its body a little more when combined with milk. No matter what you drink, your coffee is in good hands here. If you’re into home brews like V60, filters or the like, then you can even take it one step further at Zephyr and create your own coffee blend on site – there are buckets of different international green beans, which you can combine in your own way, then Justin will roast it for you, bag it up, and it’s yours to use at home.  Those that appreciate a good specialty brew will really love the cut of Zephyr’s jib.

Coffee aside (for just moment), because just as much passion goes into the food as well. The offering is simple and tasty, with everything from the muffins in the cabinet to the baked beans on the jaffles made on site. If you’re partial to a smoothie bowl, then you’re in luck. Not only is there acai, there’s also black activated-charcoal bowls, green bowls, turmeric bowls and coconut bowls – basically  all the colours of the rainbow. You’ll find delicious toasted jaffles with fillings like spaghetti bolognese, Nutella and banana and a tasty reuben (come at me, pastrami). There are plenty of vibrant smoothies on offer, plus a cabinet full of sweet goodies for a snack on the go.
