Two-hatted Wasabi chef Zeb Gilbert teams up with Harvest Newrybar for a one-off dining experience

If the results from the recent Good Food Guide 2019 Awards caught your attention, then you’ll want to save this date – Wednesday November 28 – because Zeb Gilbert of recently two-hatted Noosa establishment Wasabi Restaurant & Bar is heading to the kitchen of Harvest in Newrybar, which was awarded one hat at this year’s awards, for an exclusive culinary collaboration. Oh, and you’re invited.

The one-off Wild Harvest event will see top Queensland chef Zeb Gilbert join forces with Harvest’s head chef Alastair Waddell and resident forager and wild-food researcher Peter Hardwick for an interactive one-night-only dining experience. As with all Wild Harvest events, the menu will come to life on the day of the event, after the trio spend time foraging in the local area – it’s all about exploring and working with under-utilised native Australian ingredients.

Zeb Gilbert is renowned for showcasing local produce with a contemporary Japanese lean, with Wasabi utilising elements from its own farm at Honeysuckle Hill, as well as fresh local seafood caught daily. Put him in the Harvest kitchen with Alastair Waddell and Peter Hardwick, and you’ve got yourself a recipe for one very magical experience. The evening will feature four courses dotted with Zeb’s flair – think well-crafted dishes that see Japanese flavours and techniques woven into some of the immediate region’s most intriguing ingredients. Excited? Same. Tickets to Wild Harvest with Zeb Gilbert on November 28 are $75 per head – you can email or call Harvest on 02 6687 2644  to make a reservation.
