Pavement Whispers: new specialty coffee lounge WavyBone to bring brews and chews to Chirn Park

Despite a less-than-ideal year, the Gold Coast’s specialty coffee scene seems to have weathered the pandemic storm – and the latest caffeine-slinging arrival is testament to the city’s ever-growing appetite for top-quality coffee. After growing a solid following as a retro caravan jacking up locals at various events and pop-ups across the coast, popular mobile coffee dispensary WavyBone will soon be swapping its wheels for walls with its flagship bricks-and-mortar venue to open in just a few weeks time.

Chirn Park locals, rejoice – WavyBone’s first ‘specialty coffee lounge’ is currently under construction on Musgrave Avenue, joining the likes of Daark Espresso, 5B2F Bakehouse, Meraki Wholefood Kitchen and Muso Ramen in the budding hood. Owners and baristas Darvin Sejdic and Michael Ruzic have done the hard yards pulling brews on the road, and have finally made the move to expand the brand in order to give their loyal following a space to enjoy their WavyBone hit on the daily.

Locally roasted Blackboard Coffee will be pouring at the new Chirn Park locale, accompanied by WavyBone’s daily offering of cabinet treats, baked goods and fresh artisan breads. Works on the site are in final stages, with an opening date pegged for the second week of October. Keep your eyes peeled – we’ll give you a peek inside WavyBone very soon! In the meantime, scoot over to its Instagram page to follow the progress.
