Lockdown love – send your Melbourne mates free sweets via Uber Eats this week

While we’re all here in Queensland enjoying the glorious sunshine, dining out and seeing our families, things are very, very different for our pals down south in Melbourne, who are still right in the thick of lockdown. If you’ve got a Melburnian mate that could use a little cheering up via their stomachs, here’s your chance. Uber Eats has today launched a #lockdownlove offer where interstate folk can send free (yep, free!) desserts and ice-cream to Melbourne friends every day this week.

So, here’s the deal. The Uber Eats #lockdownlove offer runs from Monday August 31 to Friday September 4, allowing people from anywhere outside of Victoria to have their choice of dessert or ice-cream from a local business – to the value of $20 – delivered to a friend in Melbourne, all for free. The offer runs nightly from 8:00 pm, but you’ll need to be quick as these sweet surprises are capped at 1000 orders each night.

All you need to do is enter the address of your Melbourne mate as the delivery location in the Uber Eats app, which will bring up restaurants and sweets spots near them – then, have a search for the dessert options and select the treat you think your southern pal will love. When you get to the checkout screen, enter the promo code for that day – mondaylove (then tuesdaylove, and so on). The first 1000 eligible orders made each night this week (reminder, it’s only valid from 8:00 pm) will have their dessert delivered for free. Once you hit ‘order now’, you can then click ‘share this delivery’ option at the top of the Uber Eats app and your Melbourne mate will get a tracking link for your mystery treat. What better way to perk up your pal than by sending them on a sugar high from afar!
