The round-up: Sensational spring juices and smoothies

Slurping on an ice-cold juice is a sure fire way to add a little pep to your stride and cool down on a steamy day. If the forecasts are anything to go by we’re in for one hot summer so in anticipation, we’ve round-up a bunch of sensational spring juices and smoothies for your drinking pleasure. Enjoy!

Cold-pressed juice is certainly enjoying its just desserts and with good reason, too. Not only is it packed full of nutrients and good enzymes but the extraction process uses zero heating and actually enhances the flavour so each of the ingredients are amplified. Bootleg Juice Bar in Broadbeach will have your tastebuds singing with delight at any time of the day or night with its delicious array of cold-pressed juices. Boost your immune system with a dose of the Green Tommy Gun that contains cucumber, spinach, apple, celery and lemon or slurp on a Smooth Criminal, a zesty combination of carrot, pineapple, ginger, lime and mint. Burleigh’s Social Brew and The Paddock Bakery churn out litres of cold-pressed goodness on a daily basis but if it’s good old-fashioned orange juice you crave, Fiery Deli squeezes amazingly fresh cold-pressed orange juice and slushies that will jump-start your senses. If you’ve seen people moseying down James Street holding cups topped with slabs of fruit looking mighty chuffed with their choices, you can bet they’ve been to Burleigh Village Green Grocer. Slightly further up the highway, Magic Apple has earned a following of fans for its $7.00 smoothies and juice creations.

Southport’s Blendlove is known for its naughty-tasting wholesome desserts and deliciously fresh green juices but if you’re in the mood for something a little more exotic, head to Raw n Healthy for one of its Protein Colada smoothies or make tracks to BSKT in Mermaid Beach and order a Bounty smoothie, it pretty much tastes like summer in a cup. Made with cacao, maca, chocolate protein, coconut probiotic and cacao nibs, it’s equal parts healthy and tasty. Palm Beach’s Organics at Home, Coolangatta’s Raw Energy and The Shack Superfood Cafe at Nobbys will restore your body’s equilibrium with nutritionally-charged swills and if you’re after a juice on the run, stop by Flannerys Refuel Depot or Grocer & Grind.

Tonic Juice Co is keeping market-goers well hydrated but if one juice simply won’t do or you’re in need of a little spring detox, Sol Cleanse, Living Juice Co and The Cleanse Kitchen can sort you out with a multi-day cleanse program that will leave you feeling refreshed and recharged. If you’re in the mood for a cheeky tipple but don’t want to ruin your efforts in the gym, the clever chaps at Harvest Moon have created a brilliant cold-pressed juice cocktail that will make you feel good about being naughty. The nutrients in the juice basically cancels out the vodka. Not really, but it’s about as close to a guilt-free cocktail as you’ll get so it’s quite alright by us.
