The Kitchens lifts the lid on final foodie line-up

The wait is over, folks – The Kitchens at Robina Town Centre has announced today it will officially open on November 3. Just as we all digested the news that the likes of George Calombaris’ Jimmy Grants, Fish Lab by William Wu and Naked Treaties are coming to the highly anticipated culinary playground, the announcement of the final food retailers that will round up the progressive $160-million urban marketplace has dropped. Along with our jaws.

Lucky Luciano’s Italian
Set to be home to a walk-in cheese room (we know, pick yourself up off the ground and read on), renowned Sydney restaurateur Tom Chidiac is bringing an entirely new Italian dining concept to The Kitchens. Serving authentic Italian fare and fine wine in an old-world setting, Lucky Luciano’s will be the hot spot for woodfired pizza and handmade pasta. Oh, and it will be topped off with an onsite bakery. Tom Chidiac is behind a bunch of top Sydney haunts, including The Naked Duck, Sourdough Bakery Co. and Sir Chapel Brewery in The Tramsheds, so it’s safe to say this one will be pretty special. Did we mention the cheese room?

Mark Daniel’s Patisserie
Macaron fiends – it’s time. Brisbane pasty maestro Mark Canham will be opening his flagship patisserie in The Kitchens, set to send the sweet tooths among us into a spin. Formerly an Eat Street Markets regular, Mark Daniel’s Patisserie is famous for macarons, with indulgent flavours like popcorn with salted butter cream filling, Milo, chai tea, and earl grey with white chocolate ganache.

Betty’s Burgers & Concrete Co.
First Noosa, then Surfers Paradise, now Betty’s Burgers & Concrete Co. is spreading its finger-licking burger love to The Kitchens. Betty’s keeps the classic burger as pure and simple as it can be – a hand-rolled all-natural Angus beef patty, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese and Betty’s special sauce. Side those burgers with fries and the famous frozen custard desserts, known as concretes, and your life will be very much complete.

Muso Ramen Noodle & Gyoza Bar
Most Gold Coaster’s would be familiar with Muso’s ever-popular Mermaid Beach venue, and we’re super excited to see chef Akira Takagi opening his second restaurant at The Kitchens. Along with its authentic ramen experience, the menu will also feature tasty dishes like fried gyoza and chicken Nagoya wings. Ramen is king.

NYC Bagel Deli
Brisbane peeps lost their minds when NYC Bagel Deli opened recently in West End. We’re pretty certain that reaction will be replicated when the royal couple of bagels, Eddy Tice and Ania Kutek, reveal the NYC Bagel Deli goodness to the Gold Coast. Expect to choose from a range of Big Apple-inspired traditional bagels made fresh daily, plus a series of loaded bagel sandwiches including its signature Reuben complete with pastrami, Swiss cheese, dill pickle, sauerkraut and Russian dressing.

CocoWhip
With its range of vegan and bio-fermented coconut soft serve generating a cult following after its launch by BSKT Cafe, the CocoWhip guys know how to whip it good. The new digs will certainly have the health nuts flocking for the guilt-free frozen treat (that actually tastes good), with fancy flavours like African mango, turmeric, cacao, super berry plus matcha and mint.

Coming Home Co.
Said to be bringing with it an ‘old-school cool’ concept, Coming Home Co. is all about doing real food the old-fashioned way. In a modern setting, the new eatery will serve a generously sized menu bursting with healthy seasonally led dishes, featuring ethically sourced ingredients from local suppliers.

Chong Co.
Adding a sprinkle of spice to The Kitchens, Chong Co. will offer a sizzling line-up of modern and traditional Thai dishes that will no doubt pack a flavour punch, from crowd-pleasing authentic curries to chargrilled barbecue favourites and colourful desserts.

Saiko Teppanyaki
After thrilling Brisbane diners with its theatrical Japanese cooking skills and delicious cuisine from its Fortitude Valley location, you can certainly expect dinner and a show at Saiko Teppanyaki’s new venue at The Kitchens. Watch on from behind the plate as the masterful chefs put a multi-sensory spin on authentic Japanese teppanyaki cuisine.

Roti & Buns
The name says it all, so expect next-level Malaysian and Hong Kong street food in the form of traditional Asian delights like crispy buttered roti bread and hot, golden buns filled with a choice of sweet and savoury fillings fresh out of the oven. We’re jumping to conclusions here, but we reckon these will smell and taste pretty damn good.

Fiery Deli
From humble beginnings as a regular on the Gold Coast food-truck scene, Fiery Deli’s new venue at The Kitchens will be its second bricks and mortar establishment after setting up shop in Burleigh Heads. For those new to the Fiery Deli experience, expect amazingly fresh arepas (Venezuela’s answer to the pita bread) bursting with free-range chicken, avocado and coriander or stewed shredded beef and black beans, hefty bowls of colourful nachos as well as traditional Venezuelan plates filled to the brim with rice, beans, shredded beef and cooked plantain.

Hero Sushi
Famous for its fancy and colourful sushi, the talented chefs will serve up everything from classic sushi rolls to more contemporary bites and freshly made Japanese dishes, which will be a perfect addition to The Kitchens with quick and healthy on-the-go options.

Barbosa Fine Food Deli
Serving as a delicatessen and cafe, you can expect to indulge in the finer things from Barbosa Fine Food Deli. With the full spread of gourmet deli products, from oils to dips and cheese, you’ll also be able to choose from a range of fresh salads or pack a picnic basket to go.

Foodies will also have an unrivalled choice for fresh food and produce, with Earth Markets selling colourful local fruit and vegetables, alongside The Poultry Pantry, which will go beyond your typical specialist butcher by offering a range of take-home and on-the-go meals and hot charcoal chickens. The Kitchens will also feature certified-organic butcher, Pure Organic Meats, and for those wanting to stock up on the Asian grocery essentials, the Ming Mei Asian Supermarket is set to offer an impressive range of products, ingredients and spices. You can indulge in more than 200 varieties of sweets at Poppy’s Chocolates, then brighten your day with a bunch of blooms from Flowers of The Kitchens.

In case you missed our first announcement of retailers, you can see who else will be gracing The Kitchens here.
