The Broadbeach takes a beachside icon into a new era

If you are human and live on the Gold Coast (that should cover most of you) then chances are you have been to or frequented the Liars Bar within the former Broadbeach Tavern at some stage in your life. Maybe to catch a live band, maybe for the cheap schooners, or maybe it was to set the dance floor alight at 1:00 am on a Sunday morning with your choreographed dance moves. All good things must come to an end, so while we bid adieu to Liars Bar, we say hello to The Broadbeach.

The entire corner site that used to house Liars Bar and the adjoining tavern has been given a new lease on life. While the spot may not have been everybody’s cup of tea in the past, it was certainly buoyed by its enviable seaside location, nestled beneath The Oasis Shopping Centre and directly opposite Kurrawa Surf Club. The complete transformation and creation The Broadbeach has given the premises some serious street appeal, with an outdoor deck area wrapping around the entire corner, creating a primo spot to sip beers in the sunshine.

Stage one of The Broadbeach, including the dining area, the indoor-outdoor high tables and bar is now all open for business, while further stages (including the dance floor – phew) are due to open in the coming weeks. Stroll in for lunch or dinner, where you’ll be met with an extensive bistro-style menu that offers a more refined take on pub classics. You can snack on charcuterie spreads and fresh oysters before moving onto woodfired pizzas, pastas, vibrant salads, burgers, poke bowls, fresh seafood towers and a mouth-watering selection of steaks. Behind the bar there are a bunch of local and Australian beers pouring through the taps, plus cocktails, wines, mocktails and more to keep you well and truly hydrated.

The Broadbeach is now open! Contact details and opening hours can be found over in our Stumble Guide.

The Stumble Guide is our comprehensive Gold Coast dining guide with more than 870 places to eat, drink, shop and play.
