The Bread Social fills Tweed Heads with the sweet smell of fresh bread and pastry
If you love the fresh bread and delicious baked goods served at The Farm Byron Bay, then you’ll be happy to know that the gents responsible for creating the warm doughy goodies have opened a retail bakery and espresso bar in Tweed Heads. We love you Byron Bay, but we’re head over heels with the news that The Bread Social’s sourdough and pastries are now even closer.
If fresh-baked crusty sourdough is a staple in your household, you’ll be rejoicing that The Bread Social trio Sam, Paul and Tom are now filling Bay Street in Tweed Heads with the aromas of their unbelievably tasty baked goods. Having won over the bread-loving populace that frequent The Farm Byron Bay, The Bread Social team are now churning out the good stuff from 7:30 am (that’s New South Wales time, remember) Monday to Friday, with Saturdays soon to come. After all, what’s a Saturday morning without fresh bread? The new venue sits in the heart of the revitalised Bay Street retail strip, with the new facility allowing the talented bakers to expand their range, serving gourmet pies, sausage rolls, sandwiches, fresh salads and Single O coffee.
Now let’s stop right there – don’t expect the usual from these guys when it comes to pies and sausages rolls. We’re talking sausage roll varieties like lamb and smoked eggplant to pork, apple and sage, and ricotta, eggplant and walnut. If pies are your vice, you’ll get combos like chicken and sumac, beef and tomato, and vegetable and bechamel. You can also order toast by the slice with condiments like ricotta, jam and honeycomb. What sets The Bread Social apart is its ethos and passion for quality ingredients and local produce – everything is sourced from as close as possible. It’s refreshing to know when you’re tucking to to sausage roll or meat pie that it contains fresh ingredients from nearby live produce-rich areas like Grafton, Casino and Tenterfield. It’s all about keeping it local. We’ll let you in on a secret though – the sweets and pastries are genuinely irresistible. No joke. We dare you to try and leave without a croissant (almond or plain), a custard brulee tart, lemon meringue or basically anything wrapped in The Bread Social’s sweet, flakey pastry.
