Thanh Binh Bamboo opens at The Strand at Coolangatta

Bringing together flavours of Vietnamese, Japanese, Thai and Chinese cuisine, Thanh Binh Bamboo has opened at The Strand at Coolangatta adding a tasty new dimension to the level one dining precinct.

The varied menu at Thanh Binh Bamboo is the culmination of ex-Peony head chefs Paul Ngo and Binh Nguyen’s 30 years’ experience in some of Brisbane’s finest Asian establishments. With an emphasis on contemporary Vietnamese, the extensive bill of fare offers tastes from across the orient including sushi and fresh sashimi, hearty Thai curries and Yum Cha alongside seasonal specials such as locally caught mud crab with XO sauce. If food from the sea tickles your fancy, Thanh Binh offers a superb spread but if you enjoy a side of theatrics with your meal, opt for the sizzling plate that is delivered in a bowl and poured onto the hotplate at your table releasing an aroma that will have you salivating.

Meaning ‘peaceful’ in Vietnamese, the prefix Thanh Binh sets the tone of the relaxed yet sophisticated setting, a sentiment that is echoed with the border of bamboo shoots. Thanh Binh Bamboo provides the perfect place to watch the waves roll in over a casual bite of sushi and a beer or gather with your nearest and dearest to eat your bodyweight in food and indulge in a few Umeshu (Japanese liquor) and sodas. Keep your peepers peeled as there are plans to introduce beer and dumpling specials. See our Stumble Guide for opening times.

The Stumble Guide is our comprehensive Gold Coast dining guide with more than 870 places to eat, drink, shop and play.
