Sunhouse Surf Shop & Cafe opens new beer garden
Sunhouse Surf Shop & Cafe in Coolangatta has broadened its horizons beyond surfboards and coffee to unveil a new beer garden and commercial kitchen.
Housed in the old KFC building from the 1970s, Sunhouse Surf Shop & Cafe is now serving frothy beers and Caribbean-esque cocktails in its outdoor beer garden.
Alongside the deliciously tempting beverage list, a full signature menu that was inspired by salty seaside destinations and holidays has been prepared by head chef Bryce Hayes, formerly from Cavalier Bar and Supper in Burleigh Heads and the Lychee Lounge in West End. The southern Californian-style menu delivers a selection of fresh fare, perfect to satisfy that post-surf hunger. House specials include the So-Cal Burrito, a sensory fiesta of seared steak tossed through a special spice blend, rice, tasty cheese, avocado, sour cream and salsa fresca as well as the Enbutidos sharing platter that is overflowing with cured salami, pickles, house-made mustard and broken bread. No one would judge you if you opted not to share this feast.
Sunhouse serve Allpress Coffee and often host movie nights, live music and exhibitions.
