Stone & Wood has been quenching thirsts and satiating the palates of craft-beer lovers for ten years now. While the independent brewer’s coming of age saw it celebrate in style (including dropping its iconic Pacific Ale in tinnie form), the recent launch of its striking new Byron Bay brewery is certainly a pinnacle moment in its decade-long crusade in the Australian beer scene.

The Byron Bay brewery has been dubbed Stone & Wood’s new ‘spiritual home’, with the purpose-built 1160-sqm site bringing all of its operations – the brewery, tasting room and office space for the team – under one very impressive roof. Nestled amid the bustling Byron Bay Arts & Industrial estate, the site is equipped with 31 brewing tanks, a canteen slinging delicious bites from a menu curated by the talented team at 100 Mile Table, a tasting room and plenty of communal seating areas.

In true Stone & Wood style, the family-friendly Byron Bay brewery is dedicated to beer education, with tours operating three times a day. Visitors are invited stroll in to sip and taste the core range of beers, a rotating series of experimental pilot-batch beers, as well as limited-edition brewery-only creations. All of that education and sipping will surely stir up some hunger, so cast your eye over the tasty bites menu – it changes weekly, but you can expect beer-friendly eats and bar-style snacks, with several dishes featuring fermented sides like kimchi to tie in with the ‘fermented’ elements of brewing.
