This very conundrum is what compelled long-time pals and hospo heavyweights Tristan and Kassia Grier (Barrio and Harvest), Brooke Hudson (co-founder of Harvest) and Michael Annetts (managing director) to open their first coffee dispensary in Bangalow back in 2014. The formula for consistently great coffee on-the-go proved to be a winner, as the group has gone on to replicate it in Byron Bay, Port Douglas and now here on coast. Born from their own experiences as sleep-deprived new parents, hospitality workers and airline crew juggling shift work and family commitments, Sparrow Coffee Co has been designed for busy people. Rather than simply adding a takeaway option to a broader cafe offering, Sparrow has been built around the takeaway experience with the option to sit-in as secondary. The result is a streamlined grab-and-go experience that will have you sufficiently caffeinated and back on the road in a jiffy.

Sparrow’s new nest isn’t immediately visible from the roadside, however those who detour off the main thoroughfare are rewarded with quality Allpress Espresso flowing through the machines. There’s ample parking out the front and you can pre-order via Sparrow’s app (Apple or Play) so your morning pick-me-up will be ready when you are. Rounding out the trifecta, Sparrow’s baristas are trained to pump out high volumes of orders ensuring every single one tastes exactly like the one from yesterday and the day before.
