Sparrow Eating House opens at Nobby Beach

Sparrow Eating House is the latest restaurant to open in Nobby Beach and has taken the space left by Two Brothers. The venture is the third for local restaurateurs Andrew and Jodie Whiting who also own Elk Espresso in Broadbeach.

Sparrow Eating House is a celebration of the whole dining experience. Described as a share house, everything here is designed to be shared, even the weekend breakfast plates. Of course, with sensations including the cold rare beef fillet with whipped horseradish butter that is infused with white truffle oil and served alongside a toasty warm corn bread on the menu, you may very well struggle to fulfil this ambition because you will want it all to yourself. The carefully curated menu caters to a wide range of tastes from spicy southern-style chicken tacos to venison that is served with spiced pumpkin and freeze-dried orange. The temptation to order every plate on the menu is indeed present and almost impossible to resist. If you have room for dessert, bring your meal to a stunning conclusion with the puff-pastry banoffee jaffle with salted caramel.

Alongside the food menu, the drinks list presents another conundrum. Andrew has scoured the country to find amazing little wineries and breweries to showcase, each one as inviting as the next. Don’t worry if you’re not entirely across the difference between the Pinot Gris and the Gruner Veltliner, the lovely ladies at the bar can certainly recommend something that will complement your selections.

Sparrow Eating House opened this month and has quickly received high accolades from locals with the place bursting at the seams ever since. The venue is beautifully decorated with geometric light fittings, copper tables and wooden accents.
