Burleigh cafe Social Brew brings its green goodness to Paradise Point

There’s no denying that a lot of the coast’s foodie activity has been weighted on the southern end of late. So, when we get to chat about new cafes, restaurants and bars on the northern end, we get a tad excited. Social Brew, the bustling cafe in Burleigh’s James Street arcade, is giving the north a taste of its goodness with a new venue in the heart of Paradise Point.

The new Social Brew Paradise Point is essentially a larger version of its Burleigh Heads sibling, but with one added element – booze. The new venue retains Social Brew’s ethos of fresh, wholesome and healthy breakfast and lunch eats, though the liquor licence allows an exciting shift into night trade. The subtle change also sees new menu additions to suit, like a swag of different sharing platters, that are designed to be enjoyed with a glass of wine overlooking the pristine broadwater.

Former Hilton Surfers Paradise chef Isaac Humphries is at the helm of the kitchen, developing a menu that will catch the eye of health-conscious foodies. You can enjoy a Wellness Board or a bowl of super greens for breakfast, before moving into light lunch options like a grilled haloumi salad with poached pear and a toasted brioche croute, a zucchini-base pizza, or grilled pork ribs with sweet potato fries. The dinners, served Thursday to Sunday, features mains like pork cutlets with maple, pecans, chilli and a Calvados jus, and eye fillet with confit garlic and truffle jus. Finish with a glass of Adelaide Hills’ finest and the Social Bombe – a pastry tart filled with honeycomb ice-cream and boysenberry jam, topped with meringue and drizzled with flaming brandy.
