Rita’s Burgers brings big buns and good times to Cabarita

We like big burgers and we cannot lie. If you too are partial to wrapping your mitts around a big, beautiful burger and are powerless to resist the unmistakeable crunch of fried-chicken, do yourself a favour and make haste to Rita’s Burgers in Cabarita. Nestled next door to Nectar Juice House and across from Fuel Bakehouse, Rita’s is all about those soft buns, juicy patties and good times.

It’s said that 80 percent of people eat with their eyes first and foremost. When you lock eyes with your burger as it emerges from the kitchen at the far end of Rita’s Burgers, you cannot help but be excited – very excited. Rita’s is a complete sensory experience, and that’s before you even take a bite! The beachside venue is all about the burg life with a dozen different combinations to choose from (four of which are plant based). For those with a preference for the classics, The ’88 (grass-fed beef patty, American cheddar, onion, crunchy pickles, house-made ketchup and American mustard atop a freshly baked seeded bun) is an excellent place to start. Fried-chicken fiends will find their kryptonite with The CFC (Caba Fried Chicken) or its spicy sister, The Hottie, and if you’ve got a hunger bigger than Yeezy’s ego, The 7-to-7 with beef patty, double cheddar, smoked streaky bacon, shredded iceberg, onion, tomato, and beetroot relish is guaranteed to hit the sweet spot. Add a serve of loaded mega fries or onion rings and a shake, and that, dear reader is a recipe for a food coma of the best kind.

Taking cues from its beachside locale, Rita’s is unpretentious and fun. The playlist skips from Kanye’s ‘Gold Digger’ to The Killers’ karaoke classic ‘Mr Brightside’ as skate vids projected onto the big screen command your attention. A retro arcade game is nestled in the corner and, for musically-minded mates, there’s a piano that says ‘play me, I’m yours’. Rita’s offers a combination of casual seating inside and out so next time you’re heading south, stop in and pay her a visit.

If you reckon you’ll like the cut of Rita’s jib, slide merrily over to our Stumble Guide for opening times.
